Industry Day Update
Oct. 2006: RFI, RFP, RFQ Status
Due to the recent changes in the U.S. Navy's acquisition schedule, the General Dynamics RFIs, RFPs and RFQs have been put on hold. The General Dynamics Littoral Combat Ship (LCS) Core Mission System team is working with the U.S. Navy to finalize our acquisition plans and will provide updates to the information below as soon as the information is available. As part of the General Dynamics open architecture/open  business model approach, General Dynamics has been and continues to review the best offerings of industry in an open competition. This competition is for a multi-ship opportunity in the commercial and defense industries for systems, sub-systems and components that fully comply with U.S. Naval requirements. Interested companies must complete a Non-disclosure Application (NDA) and Corporate Qualification Form to compete in the following areas:

Industry Day Background Information
The General Dynamics Littoral Combat Ship (LCS) Core Mission System team hosted an Industry Day on Wednesday, May 31, 2006. During this event, the GDLCS Core Mission System team shared their open architecture/open business model approach and identified opportunitites for industry participation in the Littoral Combat Ship Flight 0 Follow-On program. 

The event was open to all vendors in the areas of command and control, communications, sensors, weapons, effectors, sea frame control, displays and electronics. Click here for the pre-event press release.
